cat no ioEA1093 | Human iPSC-derived astrocytes

ioAstrocytes are delivered in a cryopreserved format. The user manual for the generation of three cells follows a simple three-phase process.

  • Induction
Human iPSCs are exposed to an induction protocol. This leads to irreversible loss of pluripotency, and the synchronised homogeneous production of ioAstrocytes. The ioAstrocytes are subsequently cryopreserved for distribution.
  • Phase 1 – Stabilisation (day 0 to day 2)
The ioAstrocytes are revived at the user’s laboratory using the recommended medium. After 24h a full media change.
  • Phase 2 – Pre-maintenance (day 2 to day 8)
Every 48h a 50% media change is performed with the recommended medium.
  • Phase 3 – Maintenance (day 8 onwards):
The ioAstrocytes require full media change switching to recommended medium. Half media changes are subsequently performed every 48h onwards.
